CU Packs and Auto Scaling
Add account-shared CU manually or through automatic purchases.
A CU Pack adds one-time Compute Units to your account. It does not change your recurring monthly CU, Base CUPS or API key allowance. All keys on the account share the purchased CU.

Open the CU Pack purchase option in your account, select the available quantity and review the total CU and charge before paying. Multiple packs add their combined CU after successful payment and allocation. For example, two Enterprise packs add 10B CU for $2,000.
Enterprise pack pricing is fixed across Base CUPS tiers. Semi-annual and annual subscription discounts do not apply to packs.
Enterprise CU Auto Scaling
CU Auto Scaling automatically purchases 1B CU for $200 per trigger. This is different from the 5B manual pack.
- Open Account and locate CU Auto Scaling.
- Review the trigger and the automatic purchase amount before enabling it.
- Keep a valid payment method available. Each successful automatic purchase is charged separately and adds 1B CU.
Auto Scaling adds CU only. It does not buy CUPS Burst Packs or increase any key's rate limit. It is not postpaid overage billing.
Standard Auto Scaling continues to use the Standard pack amount and trigger displayed in Account.
If an automatic payment fails
No CU is added for the failed purchase. Review the payment method and Auto Scaling status in Account. Remaining usable CU can still cover requests; requests may fail when no usable CU remains.
A failed CU Pack purchase does not start the subscription renewal retry period. If Auto Scaling is off, review the current pack terms before enabling it again.
Turn off Auto Scaling or change plans
You can turn off CU Auto Scaling in Account. This stops new automatic CU purchases and does not cancel subscription renewal. Turning it off does not remove CU you have already purchased.
When a plan change between Standard and Enterprise takes effect, CU Auto Scaling is turned off if it was enabled. Review the new pack size and price before enabling it again. This applies when the change becomes effective, not when a future change is scheduled.
Monthly CU and purchased CU
Monthly CU resets under your subscription schedule. CU Packs are separate one-time purchases, not an increase to the next month's recurring allowance. Remaining valid CU Packs can cover usage after the monthly allowance is exhausted. Monitor available CU in Account; a subscription payment retry period does not provide unlimited CU or an extra CU buffer.
